since rating will slowly increase inactive guilds will just drop down the ladder slowly. If a guild has aquired a lot of rating, and then decides to go a bit less active for a while (for example due to holidays) it would be retarded to make them lose rating, they earned it, they keep it.

Like all the others above me mentioned, if you can't beat an inactive guild's rating, you don't belong on that rank anyway.

if noone is out ranking you then why shoiuld you drop?
i mean seriously if you wanthe top 500 to belike rating 1400- 1050 then fine but personally thats abit weird. i think the system now is fine. plus people play at different toimes all ove the world mot people arent even online when you are so you may well get rank 100 versus rank 900 bu youve gotta get over getting wooped afew times and learn rather than try to get the system changed in your favor.

Just a reality check. I looked at the bottom 20 on the guild ladder 9 out of the 20 are inactive guilds. There are tons of guilds in the world right now fighting to get their name on the ladder, while half of it already is inactive. This is totally wrong for the active players.

Only reason I think they should do this is so obs mode doesn't get too barren.

And even then, degening rating isn't the only solution.

Like i said i understand the point of this. Guild ladder has guilds which disbanded. i think 1 and half months inactivity should be enough for rating starting to drop :s

Rating deterioration is not the way to go. Just because a guild is inactive does not mean that it is objectively getting weaker at play. Apart from that, how would you else compare your skill against old teams as time goes on?

No, the real solution is to drop inactive teams completely from the ladder, whist letting them retain their rating. If they become active again, they will retake their rightful place in the ladder without undue grinding against lower ranked teams.
